Student Clinic Hours & Policies

Our student clinic is open weekdays 9:30 - 5.   Appointments are taken in advance.  Our schedule is subject to change based on class schedules and workshop events.   We do not always have appointments available as students are taking many classes, be sure and book in advance.  

We offer very competitive rates for student massage, nonetheless, it is important that we all honor each other's time.  

Cancelling an Appointment

Please if you need to, cancel or change your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Your credit card will be charged the full price of your scheduled service if you do not show for your appointment or call to reschedule or cancel within 24 hours of your designated time. If you scheduled a same day appointment and must then cancel or reschedule, you will still be charged the full price of your scheduled service as it is less than 24 hours notice. Policies and Procedures

We are pleased to have you join us for a 1-hour or 1.5-hour student massage. While we would like to accommodate special requests, please note we do not offer preference for male/female student therapists or particular students.  

Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment.  We may not be able to provide the full appointment time if you arrive late. 

Please note, we do not have a large waiting room and do not recommend you bring friends or family to wait for you at our school.   The Rancho Mirage Library is just .5 miles east of us and is a good place to wait for your loved ones.  

Payment is taken in advance of receiving your massage.   We do ask that you complete an evaluation/feedback form after your massage to assist our student’s in their progress. 

 

Client Code of Conduct for Somatherapy Institute, School of Massage

To enjoy your student massage experience to the fullest, we ask that you observe the Code of Conduct, and realize this short list is designed to ensure your satisfaction, comfort and safety, as well as that of others.

 

Clients of the Somatherapy Institute Student Clinic enjoy:

  • A clean, safe, comfortable, and eco‐friendly environment
  • Have the right to stop a treatment at any time, for any reason
  • Treatment with consideration, dignity and respect
  • Trained student staffs who respectfully conduct treatments according to Somatherapy protocols, policies and procedures.

 

Clients have the responsibility to:

  • Communicate their preferences, expectations and concerns
  • Communicate complete and accurate health information and reasons for their visit
  • Treat staff and other guests with courtesy and respect
  • Arrive for treatment clean and without wearing perfume or scented body lotion in consideration of our clean air policy and other people's allergies.

 

Payment

We accept cash, checks, credit cards and gift certificates issued by Somatherapy Institute.

 

Making an Appointment

A valid credit card number or pre‐payment is needed to hold any massage appointment Somatherapy Institute. We recommend reserving an appointment in advance in order to ensure availability; however, We are delighted to accommodate you on short notice if we have an opening.

 

Cancelling an Appointment

Arrival

Please be sure to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment time in order to prepare for your massage experience. This will give you a chance to unwind and ensure that you start your appointment on time. If you are running late, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. Please note that your appointment will still end at its scheduled time, and you will still be charged the full amount of your service. We regret having to shorten any valuable time from your service due to lateness.

 

Environment

The beauty of silence helps us to create a tranquil environment ‐ please speak quietly during your session. Please silence all cell phones upon entering the center. Smoking is not permitted.

Consideration for Clients Who Are Minors

We give special consideration to clients who are under the age of 18. Those clients between 15 and 18 years old must present written permission from their parents or guardian prior to their first massage session. Clients under 15 years old must have a parent or guardian present at all times. All clients under 18 must be scheduled with a same‐gender therapist.

 

Gift Certificates

Please be sure to treat your gift certificates like cash. Your gift certificate must be present to be honored and it must contain a valid gift certificate number.
