Somatherapy was established in 1991, making it the oldest school in the valley and continues to run as a small business privately owned and operated school. For years it has kept and continues to keep its promise to graduate exceptional therapists with the schools focus only on massage and bodywork. You get the best training with master and specialized instructors so you stand out from the rest. You won't just give a massage, you will know how to give a massage with our focused hands-on training, emphasis in detail(proper body mechanics, layering skills and techniques) and in-depth lectures. Our instructors also work in the field of massage, practicing what they teach to bring real world knowledge and theory to you.

At Somatherapy, we believe a great education doesn't have to be expensive. We strive to deliver comprehensive, hands-on education at the most competitive rates in the Coachella Valley. While prospective students are encouraged to enroll in our full Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) program, we also offer a la carte classes and continuing education for established bodywork professionals. Our students graduate from our program with all the exceptional skills to immerse themselves in the field and continue their massage therapist career!
Our school features small class sizes in order to provide a personalized learning experience for each student. Instructors allow sufficient class time for one-on-one coaching. Somatherapy students enjoy an on-campus student clinic, where they are given the valuable opportunity to complete their required clinic hours and hone their skills by performing massages on members of the community.

OUR PROGRAMS
CERTIFIED MASSAGE THERAPIST PROGRAM
This program trains students for entry-level employment in the field of massage. Courses in the core program are designed to specifically meet the CAMTC requirements. The student will learn to give professional-quality massages emphasized in clinical and therapeutic techniques.
NATIONAL MASSAGE THERAPIST PROGRAM
Somatherapy offers a National Massage Therapist advanced certification program. This advanced training program prepares a Certified Massage Therapist for work in sports, medical, and rehabilitation settings. This Certificate program gives CMTs the problem solving and assessment skills to work with the most challenging clients on their own or as part of a healthcare team.
HOLISTIC HEALTH PRACTITIONER PROGRAM
The HHP Designation has long been a coveted certification for massage therapists. It is a 1000-hour total program which builds upon our Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) curriculum with advanced classes in eastern and western modalities. Students enroll in the HHP Program and then take the required courses to complete their program.
ADVANCED THERAPIST TRAINING & EDUCATION
Courses in: Swedish Massage, Kinesiology, Thai Massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Cranialsacral Theory, and Practice. Chair Massage, Polarity, Reiki, Sports Massage, Aromatherapy, Spa Services, and Treatments, Hot Stone Massage and many more.
